Benefiting from two essential factors, prime quality, and competitive price Iran Bitumen has become one of the most famous and wanted brand in the world and considered Iran as the first exporter of Bitumen in the Middle East. Iran’s Bitumen has been exported to many large markets worldwide, such as the Middle East, South, and East Asia, Africa, CIS, and Europe.
Bitumen types
Bitumen grading tests are categorized as viscosity level, penetration value, performance, consistency, etc.
Penetration grades bitumen are listed in the table below highlighting the hardness or softness of bitumen by measuring the depth in millimeters.

Cutback bitumen is a petroleum product is manufactured by blending either 70/100 pen or 160/220 pen bitumen with kerosene to comply with a viscosity specification.

Iran Bitumen is recognized as Vacuum Bottom based petroleum with a purity of 100% in comparison to Bitumen produced by Vacuum residue, which has a minor price advantage, remains longer in the hot and cold, severe climates, saving time and funds in future reconstructions and costs. Iranian producers and refineries provide different ranges of Oxidized Bitumen. This product is a type of bitumen obtained from blowing air to pure bitumen. In comparison to pure bitumen, it has a lower penetration grade and more softening point. Based on its softening point and penetration grade, it classifies into three types of low, medium, and hard oxidized bitumen. Bitumen emulsion is a liquefied type of bitumen with a low viscosity. By dispersing bitumen in water and adding an emulsifier, ordinary bitumen turns into a low viscosity liquid that can easily be used in a variety of applications, including repairing and maintaining roads, waterproofing, spraying, etc.
